Early yesterday morning my nephew was born! He was a week overdue, which thrilled my sister and brother-in-law to no end *note sarcasm*. During the delivery my sister spiked a fever, so the little guy is in the neonatal ICU. As it turns out, he has some sort of infection in his blood, so he’ll have to stay in the hospital for a few more days while he gets some IV antibiotics. His mother and father are understandably stressed about the whole thing, especially my brother-in-law, who lost a child with his first wife when he was only a matter of a few days old, so this is bringing up some painful memories for him. Any my dad is grumpy because he hasn’t gotten to hold or even meet his newest grandchild yet, since he went to the NICU before my dad got there and only parent are allowed in the NICU.
On a slightly happier not, this weekend is MY BIRTHDAY!
What the fuck is my problem? I’m turning 40, what’s there to be happy about? lol…
Hold off on the birthday wishes, if you’re so inspired, it’s not until Sunday!
I’m on my own with the kids tonight- Veronica has a conference in Boston today and tomorrow with social events this evening, so she’s staying in the city tonight. How will I ever manage to amuse myself once the kids are in bed?

And…here we go!

1. You have a chance to put a smile on my face on my birthday. Check back on Sunday
2. I’m drinking a beer and listening to PP watch Wonder Pets right now!
3. There is a good chance of naughtiness tomorrow night!
4. I don’t like to buy something now and pay later.
5. It’s time to figure out what I’m making for dinner.
6. Whether Darling Boy is going to karate class tomorrow or not is up in the air but I’m definitely taking Princess Persistent to dance class.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to hanging out with my kiddos, tomorrow my plans include dinner out with Veronica, a visit to a swingers club, then a night in a hotel (my dad is coming up on Saturday and watching the kids for us!) and Sunday, I want to celebrate my birthday with my family!
