I can explain the ring(s). It’s a maternal instinct sort of thing. Rather than risk scratching the newborns face or other skin on the prongs of the ring most women will either turn the stone to the inside of their palm or remove the ring completely before cradling the young ‘un.

There’s actually a simpler explanation- once Veronica saw this post, she told me that before she picked up the baby, she was washing some dishes in the kitchen for my sister, took her rings off, and then forgot to put them back on right away!
