Grrr….

Wednesday morning I’m “working from home”.  Why?  Because I’ll be waiting for the plumber.

And why am I waiting for the plumber? Because I can’t seem to unclog a fuckin’ sink by myself.

Keep in mind, I’d like to consider myself pretty handy around the house [and not just in the bedroom ]. In the 6 or so years that we’ve been homeowners, we’ve had to call someone for a repair exactly 3 times- when our water heater burst, when a broken window needed to be replaced, and when our dishwasher was having issues.  That’s it.  Everything else, I’ve been able to handle.

We have 1 1/2 baths in our house, and they share a common wall.  Somewhere inside that wall, somewhere that I can’t see or get to, the drains from the 2 sinks join together.  And luckily for the plumber I’ll be paying, that’s where the clog is, somewhere downstream of where the pipes join together.

Drain-O? Didn’t do a thing

Liquid Plumbr? Nope, no luck

A plumbers snake? Hahaha.  I can’t even describe the amusement that resulted from that idea…

And there is limited access to the pipes inside the wall from the basement, since it’s a finished basement.

Looking on the bright side, I get to sleep in.  If I’m really lucky, the plumber won’t get here until later in the morning, once the snow storm we’re supposed to get has started.  And that will give me the perfect excuse to “work from home” all day
