I like to use this post title when I have a bunch of disconnected topics I want to blog about, so I just throw them all into one post and see what sticks for grabbing your attention….

Yesterday a blogger friend contacted me, asking for some advice in dealing with a reader.  This blogger friend, like myself, blogs anonymously, for a variety of reasons, just like many of us do, and we’re selective about what we share on the blogosphere.  She was contacted by a reader who took bits and pieces of info and proceeded to disclose that he knows her real name, her kids names, where she lives, and a some other personal info.  This took some work on his part, he had a spend some time on the internet doing some research to figure some of this out.

Are she and I the only ones who find this rather creepy?

We’ve all made mistakes, accidentally using a real name here or there, disclosing a little more info than we intended.  It’s nice to be able to count on blogger friends who would notice this and quickly and discretely shoot off an e-mail and say “hey, you might want to double check your blog today.”  But to have it thrown back at her, in a judgmental fashion no less, was just plain wrong.

Sunday afternoon I took DB to the bike shop and we got him a new bike.  He loves to ride, but seeing a 54″ tall boy on a 16″ bike was downright comical.  Pedaling it, he looked like he should be in the circus!

Once we got home, he and I promptly went for a bike ride.  We had been talking about letting him ride his bike to school once the weather improves some more, so he and I checked out the route to his school.  Once we got there, we did a lap around the school looking for the bike racks.

There are no bike racks.

Let me say that again. There are no bike racks at an elementary school serving 3rd and 4th grade students.

I saw something in the Sunday paper, something ranking the fattest towns in MA.  Our town is one of the top 5 fattest in the state, a state which mandates that the schools measure and report our childs BMI to us.  It irritates the hell out of me that some fucking bureaucrat made a decision in the name of risk management that at the end of the day discourages children from being physically active.

Veronica’s going to contact the school board to complain. I suspect she’ll get nowhere with them.

Have you noticed that I have a blogroll again? That was one of the things that is not part of the file when you export a blog from a WordPress-hosted site, but there is another way, it just took a little extra work.  If you’re not listed and would like to be, or are listed and don’t want to be, let me know and I’ll take care of it.

I use Twitterfeed to automatically generate a tweet whenever I post a new blog entry, but since I moved over here, it hasn’t been working.  I’ve tried reconfiguring it twice, tested the feed, etc, and it all says it should work, but it doesn’t.  Grr…

Speaking of my new site, I’m starting to think that I’m not entirely happy with the theme I’m using.  And there are some plug-ins, some for appearance, others for functionality, that I still want to play with.  This is definitely a work in progress.  But isn’t everything?

============================================================================

Last night I was laying in bed, Veronica cuddled up against me, her head resting on my chest.  We weren’t talking, just laying there, feeling our breathing and heart rates return to rest again.  At that moment the thought crossed my mind that I didn’t have a care in the world.

Isn’t post-orgasmic bliss wonderful?

Speaking of Veronica, she was getting dressed after her morning shower as I was writing this post.  I couldn’t resist grabbing a picture with my iPhone.  I love that ass!  And all the rest of her bits and pieces!

Have a great day everyone!

I’m going to write the principal today. I promise.

The majority (and by majority I mean 99.7%) of the kids at Ethan’s school either walk or have their parents drop them off. There are only 2 buses that pick students up and drop them off. The reason for this is that if you live within 2 (maybe 3) miles from the school, no bus is available. We’re one of the 99.7% who lives within that “no bus” distance, which is fine. I’m fortunate that I am able to drop him off and pick him up. If I wasn’t able to do that, he could certainly walk, but a good portion of that walk is an area with no sidewalks so I’d rather drive him. I would be OK with him riding his bike, which he’s asked me to do many times, but like DB’s school, there’s NO DAMN BIKE RACKS! How do you have an elementary school with the majority of the population providing their own transportation and not have any bike racks? I have called and complained and the answer I got is that they don’t want to be responsible for damaged or stolen bikes. In addition, they said that having children on bikes would be dangerous to the walkers. I think it’s ridiculous.

That is extremely creepy about your blogger friend. Why would someone do that? Honestly, it’s quite scary and I don’t know what I’d do in that situation. What is she going to do?

And as always, Veronica’s ass looks amazing. ;)

Regarding your friend, it’s not just creepy, it can be the front end of harassing (at best) or stalking (at worse) behavior. Knowing nothing more about the situation than what you mentioned above, I recommend drawing a hard line with the person and to document — or at least save in a separate file — any communication with the person. If the person went out of his way to uncover personal information, if any of it is accurate, and furthermore if they don’t see the inappropriateness of mentioning your friend’s children, then he or she should be moved from the “random stranger” to the “possibly dangerous stranger” category.

No bike racks? Wow! My kids’ school doesn’t have them but it would be very unsafe at their school for kids to ride. But living in a bike riding city like we do all the other schools and everyplace has
them. I think it’s easier to park a bike than a car in some places. Hope Veronica gets somewhere.

    Hey and Hubman….thank you. :-)

Wow, no bike racks? And they check your children’s BMI?!? Are you freakin’ serious? Whoa… Yep, I’d definitely get some complaints to the school board. Sheesh.

Scary about the reader on that other blog. People need to get a life, right?

Thanks for the pic. Nice. Oh and thanks for adding me to the blog roll. :)

That is ridiculously creepy! I would properly freak out if someone did that to me. I hope she’s okay!

And Veronica does have a very nice ass!

I was semi-out’d a year or so ago.. But, because the person was sympathetic to my plight, I had no real worries.. But, it does keep you on your toes with regards to what you put in (and omit) from your blog..
As for the bike racks, I think they’ve been overlooked because so many parents are afraid to let their kids ride without them.. I know DD isn’t allowed.. There are too many freaks in the world these days..
Oh, and as always, V has a great ass!! :) :)

Um, very creepy! What is she going to do? :(

Might I get on your blogroll kind sir?

Oh, and cuddles are the bestest! Lovely pic.

About the blogger friend, that is insanely creepy. He actually took time to do research and piece things together. I would be totally freaked out!

    Creepy.

I would contact the principal, and then follow up in a week or two to make sure they are making progress on the bike rack issue.

Feel free to add me to your blogroll.

Post-orgasmic bliss is awesome. And Veronica looks good. :)

    peace…

What makes it so creepy is when they contact a blogger to make a point that they know, leaving that person wondering why. I found out the real name of a blogger last year due to how facebook and gmail interact to find friends, and did nothing about it. Basically because I have better things to do than freak someone out needlessly.

Yeah, our blogger friend’s troll? Not cool in the least. But glad things seem to have settled down…
