Some days, I miss old-fashioned film and hard copies of every picture neatly archived in photo albums.

Then I come across a box like this (and the 100′s of prints inside!) stashed away on a shelf somewhere, and I don’t miss them as much…

Click-click for a treat

We have several storage boxes filled from our pre-digital days of college, graduate school, and the first half decade of marriage. Each time I move them, I am remind how heavy those 1,000s(?) of photo are. We still fill photos albums with photos which we enjoy, but we don’t have to figure out with the dozens of other prints that never made it into the albums.

I love looking through albums, but the work that goes into creating them is something I just don’t have time for! Which reminds me, I have a box like the one above stashed away in a closet, full of pics of my daughter’s first year or so of life. Maybe I’ll make an album for her as a wedding present! : )

Yes, I have that too. Tons of pics I never put in albums and I don’t think I will. My mom stoped having time for albums around 1992, lol.

But oh I do miss film and printing and manipulating the good old fashioned way. I miss my B&W darkroom, getting my hands in there and watching the prints bloom to life in my hands.

There are boxes of albums and even more boxes of pictures and negatives that didn’t make the final cut. Somehow I just cant work up the courage to go through them and do a cull. Perhaps it’s because it will remind me of happier times… and sadder ones too.

Talk about BLUE eyes, golly! I’m glad you got the click-through working. Well worth the tease. (Of which the unintentional kind are, at times, the best!) ;)
