No, this isn’t a post about Twitter!

Monday evening the kids and I were out in the yard when we spied a bird sitting on the grass.  I thought it was odd that the bird didn’t fly away, even when PP walked to within 8-10 feet of it.  She got a little closer and it flew to the fence, but it was immediately obvious that it was somehow injured.

Of course, my first thought was “oh cool, my first chance at some wildlife photography!” so I ran inside for my camera.  The bird let me get to within about 6 ft for this shot, then it flew further up into a tree.  I wonder if it’ll be okay….

I love taking pictures of wildlife.

We had this really friendly squirrel where I last lived. He’d let me get within 2 feet of him when he was hanging out on the tree trunks. Being that close to a squirrel freaked me out. I was always afraid he was going to lunge for my face, and chew my nose off!

Excellent photo! I hope the bird makes a full recovery from his injury!

We have geese and ducks hanging out at 2 local ponds. Every now and then one of them would be seen lying on the side of the road after having been hit by a car. :( Sad.

    Good picture!

So what type of bird is that? We have ‘tits’ over here which causes a great deal of mirth to non-ornithologists. Particlarly the blue tit and the great tit :)
