For reasons I can’t remember, I subscribe to the RSS feed for a site called Men’s News Daily: Your Daily Dose of Counter Theory.  It’s really a bunch of anti-feminist nonsense and more often than not I read the drivel posted there and just laugh at the idea that there are men who really think this way. Take, for example, these quotes from a post published on Monday:

But what is this new thing about men needing to wear pink to lend support to finding a cure for women’s cancer? Why can’t a man stand for something and still retain his male dignity in the process?

A man, still bound by his male dignity, can support a cause, but that doesn’t mean he’s to lower his self-worth in the process.

The whole idea associated with applying the femininity at the expense of masculinity is generated in disrespect for the male gender (his masculinity).

According the author of this post, I guess I’m sacrificing my dignity, lowering my self-worth and disrespecting my male peers by wearing this shirt.  I can live with that ;-)

Now I’ll admit that this is Veronica’s shirt that I borrowed for the sake of this post.  I have however owned pink shirts before.  I have a shirt in my dresser now that has a pink logo and when I was in college, my dormitory broomball team, mostly guys, jock guys, proudly wore hot pink team t-shirts.

If you’re interested in seeing me without my shirt, it’s Tuesday which means it’s Tits for Troops day.  As usual, Veronica is there too :-D

It’s also my sister’s 38th birthday today-Happy Birthday Sis!!

Sunday morning I had a fantastic experience- I got to run on the field at Fenway Park!!!!!

Even though I’m a die-hard Yankees fan, the opportunity and more importantly the cause was too good to pass up. The Run to Home Base is a fundraising event to support the Home Base Program, which is sponsored by the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital.  From the programs website:

The Home Base Program is a new philanthropic partnership between the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital dedicated to improving the lives of New England servicemen and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with combat stress disorders and/or traumatic brain injury through clinical care, innovative research, education, family support and community outreach.

The start of the run was outside the ballpark, on Yawkey Way.  I had to go to there on Saturday to pick up my registration stuff and took this picture then.  It was a bit more crowded on Sunday! [Click any picture to see it full-sized]:

Veronica and the kids came with me on Sunday and once we got there, we wandered up a ramp to look out over the field.  DB hadn’t been there since we took him to a game in 2002 and PP has never been there.  One of the nice things about the event was that the ballpark was open to anyone and everyone who wanted to come watch, free of charge.  What did we see near the top of the ramp? See for yourself!!

We moved a little further towards center field so I could point out the finish line to my family.  Look at the image above and you’ll see a big garage door in straightaway center field- we would enter the ballbark from Lansdowne St, through that garage door then turn right and head for the finish line right in front of the green monster.  See the orange cones? That’s the finish line.

Once we crossed the finish line, we would all head down the 3rd base line and get the chance to walk across home plate.  Of course, with ~3000 runners they had to take steps to protect the grass, so they laid down this protective covering.  Now that I think about it, no one ever actually stepped on the turf- we only ran or walked on the dirt or on this covering.

Veronica went kinda picture crazy with my camera [which is a good thing!] and while she swears that I’m in this picture, I don’t see me.  That’s okay though, you get the idea.  There are other pictures that it’s obvious I’m in, but a little too obvious to share here…

I have to say, I underestimated what a big deal this event was.  Among those in attendance, besides numerous veterans groups, wounded warriors and their families were Massachusetts Lt Governor Tim Murray, Red Sox CEO Tom Werner and Army Chief of Staff General George Casey.  I paid to participate, but at the end of the day, it was an honor to participate in this event, an experience I won’t soon forget.

And I was good- I didn’t wear one of my Yankees t-shirts when I crossed the Red Sox home plate ;-)

I use the grill pretty much year-round- it has to be really fuckin’ cold or a downpour for me to tell Veronica that I’m not willing to grill something.  Saturday evening it was bratwursts and corn on the cob and for the first time this spring, we had dinner outside!

They really like me!

Who originally said that line? I think it was Sally Field at the Academy Awards one year.  Anyway…

Both Crystal Girl and ¡Qué sinvergüenza! saw fit to give me the “My Favorite Blog Award”!

Thanks ladies, I really appreciate it!

Here are the rules for the award:
1. Post the award on your blog somewhere
2. Post one of the following on your blog
- A video of yourself either playing a musical instrument or singing
- A picture of your pet
- A very long post about your favorite book
3. Pick 3 of your favorite blogs to give the award too

Ok, I posted the award above.  I can’t play a musical instrument and trust me, you do NOT want to hear me sing, nor can I think of a favorite book to write a long post about.  So why don’t you click here and admire this previously posted picture of shit-for-brains our dog?

I’m going to break the rules (I know, I’m such a fuckin’ rebel) and give this award to only one blogger- 13 Messages.  As a guy, sometimes I struggle with ideas for HNT and try, not always successfully, to come up with something artistic and not just pornographic.  I don’t mind being explicit with the pictures I post of Veronica and I (as if you couldn’t tell!) but I still strive for artistry in the photography.  13 Messages is always a great source of inspiration and a must-read blog for me, whether he’s posting a picture, musing about life and work struggles, or whatever else crosses his mind.  Also, if you don’t already know him, it’s clear from his posts and comments around the blogosphere that he’s quite simply a very nice guy.  You should read his blog if you don’t already!

On Day 40 I posted this image and mentioned that I should return when there are leaves on the trees.
Friday afternoon on my way home from work, that’s exactly what I did!
[If you click to big it, the image looks a little out of focus if you look right down the rails- a train had just passed and the tracks were radiating heat from the friction]

It’s time for another random topics post…

I now have concrete evidence that our dog is getting old and lazy.  When she was a pup, she was a dedicated escape artist, bolting out the door at every opportunity.  And let me tell you, the little fucker was QUICK! She’d run around the neighborhood, me chasing after her like an idiot, her eluding me until she decided to let me catch her and bring her back home.  Sometimes this would go on for 15-20 minutes, me cursing the entire time.

Now? Not so much.  This evening PP and I took her for a walk around the block and once we returned, we hung out in the yard.  I let the dog off her lead and left her loose in the yard.  Except for a 30′ wide area by the driveway, our yard is fenced in, so as long as she stayed away from that area, I didn’t have to worry about her.

We spent 30 minutes relaxing and playing in the yard.  Not once did the dog even attempt to escape!

Not only did Veronica have no luck finding a playmate when she was in Miami with Southern Vixen last weekend, she had a girl-date scheduled for this evening, but her friend had to cancel.  Later in the day I sent her a tweet and she replied”If I don’t get some girl action soon I’m going to need a lap dance”

Can anyone help a girl out? If so, can I watch? ;-)

Speaking of Twitter, I can’t help but chuckle when a discussion with someone leads to them getting all pissy with me, telling me what a dick I am, announcing they are unfollowing me, then blocking me from following them any more.  Then, a month or two later, I get an e-mail notifying me that they’re following me again!  It’s happened to me twice in the last week or two.  Maybe I’m not such a bad guy after all….

Do people really pay that much attention to how many followers they have on Twitter?  Some people apparently do, but not me.  Nothing gets me to unfollow you faster than asking for more followers because you only need however many more to reach some nice round number.  Well that and the stream-of-consciousness Tweeters who never reply to what others say.  If there are times when you tweet 3-4 times per minute, you might what to shut the fuck up once in a while and listen- Twitter is more fun when it’s a conversation, not a monologue!

Thursday morning Veronica and I started the day off right with some early morning love making.  When we got home from work, she pulled me into the bedroom, locked the door, started to suck my cock and suggested that we had time for a quickie, as long as the kids continued to cooperate and leave us alone.  As I was fucking her, she announced “hey, if you cum in my mouth we’re tw0-thirds of the way to a trifecta, you wanna?”

“Oh, you want me to fuck you in the ass later tonight, do you?”

“Sure, why not?!”

I gave her a nice big mouthful that she was kind enough to show me before she swallowed it all down.

But we were both too tired once we finally got to bed and fell asleep without completing the trifecta.  Tonights another night, however ;-)

The day after Memorial Day I’ll be going to Baltimore for the rest of the week for work stuff.  I’ve been on a roll and have succeeded in meeting friends, old and new alike, on just about every work-related trip in the past year, but I think my streak may end with this trip- I know no one in the Baltimore area!

Or do I, and you’ve just been hiding?

For doing nothing more than fertilizing 1-2 times per year, maybe applying some bug control and mowing it weekly, I must say, I’ve got a pretty good looking lawn!
[Click to view full-sized, I'm kinda impressed with the detail I managed to capture!]

Just think about how much (or how little) skin has been shown in the name of HNT over the course of the last 5 years!

The anniversary theme for this week was a little challenging for me, since my old blogspot hangout is long gone.  Plus, I wondered if I should use my first appearance on The Other HNT instead.  I was submitting pics there almost 2 months before I had my own blog, so technically this picture was my first HNT.  But a little digging thru the XML file from my old blog and I was able to figure out that these pics were from my first HNT, on September 4, 2008-

[Click any picture to see it full-sized in a new window]

Now reproducing these pics was going to pose 2 challenges- I don’t own that bike any more and my new road bike, the one from my HNT Bike Porn Edition post, is in my office at work so that I can get in my rides at lunchtime during the week.  But have no fear, I also own a mountain bike!

Notice the T-shirt, that’s my souvenir from when I participated in the 5 Boro Bike Tour of NYC a few weeks ago.

Veronica‘s HNT is a bit less than half-nekkid and I reproduced the original picture quite faithfully, if I may say so myself!

Don’t forget to visit Osbasso to see all of the other (more or less) half-nekkidness!

She’s not just my fuck toy ;-)

We have numerous silly pet names for each other. The other day I spontaneously called her “cum bunny” and her response was “ooooh, I like that!”
That’s my girl!

These books have been sitting by my bed for a while now.  “Where Men Win Glory” I received for Christmas and have at least started, “Open” and “Opening Up” have been sitting there un-opened (hahaha I made a funny) since I bought them in February.

I really should stop having sex damn-near every night and do some reading instead.  Unfortunately, I read this post out loud to Veronica and she agreed. WTF?
