Unusual for government work, we accomplished all that we set out to do on our 2 day trip in just 1 day.  Originally we planned on being there on Tuesday as well and flying home Tuesday evening.  I called the travel office Monday afternoon to inquire about Tuesday morning flights home and the travel agent said “What about a flight tonight?”

Hell yes!

I told my co-worker, we headed off to the airport and I was home in my own bed around 1:00 am.  With Veronica’s help, the kids didn’t know that I would be home when they woke up today and that was the best surprise of all, seeing the look of their faces!
