Usually I enjoy having some company when I’m in a hotel room and far from home.  This kind of company, however, is most definitely NOT welcome!  Even worse, this is the 2nd critter I’ve found in here- there was a cricket my first night here.  I’ll be having a word with the front desk tomorrow!

For the first time, one of the books I was given for the course I’m in came in handy!

When I was young my parents built our house. We moved into it unfinished without carpeting. When I spent the first night in my new bedroom I woke up and found my ear to be clogged. So I put my finger in my ear to only find a cricket…yuck! Still makes me cringe! Good job getting that one!

Great, now I’ll be thinking about your experience as I’m drifting off to sleep tonight…

I was always told it’s bad luck to kill a cricket inside. :( I hope that doesn’t hold true in hotel rooms.

As for Mrs. Learning’s comment…. Double Ewwww and I second getting some ear plugs.

Bugs and hotel rooms just don’t go together well.

Hey! We grew up hearing that only the lucky got crickets in their house..

It’s just a cricket. It’s not dirty like a cockroach, doesn’t carry diseases, does not bite or sting people, or suck yr blood like a mosquito/bed bug/tick does. You didn’t have to kill it. Pick it up and throw it outside.

Really? Sorry, but my hotel room’s on the 3rd floor, I wasn’t about to pick up the cricket, ride down the elevator and take it outside. So yes, I did have to kill it.

You could have just picked it up alive like i would have done… and then flushed it down the toilet. *wink*
