And I’ve been whining a bit lately!

Ever since I left home for San Antonio, TX 16 days ago, I feel like I’ve been a little negative here and on Twitter, griping about the hotel I’m in for now, the commute, missing my family, the heat, blah blah blah

Enough!

Life is good.  I talk with Veronica every day and see her and the kids on webcam several times per week.  On the way here I meet 4 blogging and Twitter friends (yes, I wrote about just 2 of them, here and here, the others we’ll see what the future holds, they’re both in Texas and I hope to see them again) and there are plans to meet some others as well.

My course is going well.  It’s challenging but not too bad and I’m making some new friends.  The physical training program is also going well, I feel like I’ve lost a little weight and I’m getting in some good rides on my bike.

I’ll be moving much closer to what I’ve been referring to as “work” by the end of next week and both the commute and the living conditions will improve greatly.

I love my kids to death, they mean everything to me.  But you know what? A little break is nice.

The singles dating site where I created a profile last weekend, in an effort to get laid once in a while?  Nothing going on there, but I have no one to blame but myself- my profile could be better and I’ve been passive, sitting back to see what develops.  I need to put more effort into it if I expect anything to develop.  Hmm, maybe I’ll revise my profile and post it here for feedback sometime this weekend…

Four weeks from today, Veronica and I will celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary.  And we get to celebrate it together!!!  Dallas-area friends, she and I are meeting there and we would love to meet you!  She’s been to San Antonio before and frankly isn’t that fond of the town and neither of us has even been to Dallas before, so why not?

In the grand scheme of things, life is pretty damn good and I need to embrace the positive and push the negative aside.

Have a great weekend friends, I know I will!

Friday afternoon I went for a walk along a path I discovered on a bike ride last weekend.  The path is several miles long and one of these days I’ll explore more of it on foot.  This time around I got lucky, I walked no more than 100 yds and I saw this doe and fawn.  There haven’t been many instances where I wished I had a longer lens on my camera, but this was one of them!  I tried to get a little closer but they bolted into the trees as soon as they saw me moving towards them.  Oh well, I still got a pretty good shot!
