Veronica and I ended our day Saturday with a late night trip to the Empire State Building.  While we had both been to the rooftop observation deck of the World Trade Center before, I think the last time I went up the Empire State Building I was in high school, and Veronica had never been up there before.

I’m looking south in this picture, which you might want to click to view full-sized to fully appreciate it.  At the bottom center of the picture, the “V” shaped intersection is where the Flatiron Building is, named because of it’s distinctive shape.  Way off in the distance you can see the lights of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, which connects Brooklyn and Staten Island.  Just down and to the left of that you can see the lights of the Brooklyn Bridge.  Lastly, it’s very difficult to see unless you zoom in on the image, but in the water in the upper-left hand section of the picture, there is the Statue of Liberty.

Saturday also included a visit to a photography exhibit at the Whitney Museum of American Art (full post to follow), a looooong walk through Central Park, some time spent admiring the architecture and grandeur of The Cathedral Church of St John the Divine and a wonderful dinner in Little Italy.

Oh, and a visit to the Kink Academy open house, where Veronica and I won a prize for being the fastest to tie Texas handcuffs.

Our prize?  Two words

Pure. Wand.

Yes, I suspect that there will be an entire post about that.  And pictures :-)

    Congrats on the prize!!

That picture is breathtaking. I haven’t been back to New York since I was 9. I’m severely overdue for another trip. =]

Thanks, as always, for sharing your world with us!

Wow, that is a great picture! Believe it or not but I have never been to NYC. It sounds like you two had an awesome weekend! I’m so glad you two are finally back under the same roof, right where you belong…together!

The photo is certainly stunning! And you will love the Pure Wand–it is the single best investment in a toy (that double as abstract art) that we have ever made!

I am coming in a little late but wanted to comment on a recent post about swingers/conservatives and religion. My schedule has kept me away from blogging and I got behind. I recently completed reading “Sex at Dawn” by Christopher Ryan and Cacilda Jetha and “The Lifestyle” by Terry Gould. Both books are very well researched, well written and with a touch of humor. They suggest about 70% of swingers identify themselves as conservative and vote Republican. The majority also indentifies with a religion and attend religious services a regular basis. This view is supported by other research pieces I have read. Mr. Gould reports a conversation he had with half dozen couples at a Lifestyles vacation concerning religion. All couples reported a strong religious conviction. One couple, Mormons, was particularly strong in their beliefs. For those interested in a history of swinging as well as a look at our prehistoric ancestors I highly recommend these two books. Both are available at Amazon and on Kendle

Awesome shot, sugar! Damn, though! I wish i would’ve known where you were. There’s the coolest little rooftop bar a couple of blocks from the ESB on top of the hotel Vince and I normally stay at when we’re in NYC. It’s a tiny place but the view is amazing — you pretty much can sit outside and look straight up the side of ESB. Oh, and the bartender there is fantastic! Next time you’re heading to NYC, let me know!

What a gorgeous picture. NYC always amazes me. I definitely need to take a trip back there soon.

I’m also so stoked that V won the Pure Wand. I know she’s been wanting one for a while. I’m sure you guys will have LOTS of fun playing with your new toy. ;)
