First we try our new toy on Veronica breast

Of course turnabout is fair play and it’s my turn. Anyone else want to give them a try? We’re happy to share :-)

I think we’re both looking forward to incorporating the nipple clamps into our play, I literally took them out of the package for Wanton Wednesday.

I looked over at Darling Boy and this is how he laying, so I told him not to move while I grabbed my camera. I think he was like this for several minutes. I asked if the blood was rushing to his head or if his neck hurt. His reply? “Nah”

I almost went there, but I refrained!

As I’ve mentioned before here and on Twitter, we’ve been without cable or broadband internet at home since around noon on Sunday.  Comcast keeps telling us that they’re working on it, we keep waiting.  Due to the power still being out at my office, I’ve had Monday and Tuesday off, which actually works out pretty good, since school starts for DB on Wednesday and we had no one to watch him.

Monday I kept suggesting activities, we could go for a bike ride, he could play with his friend next door, he has plenty of toys, there’s the Wii, he could read, and so on.

His response? Grumbling about the cable *still* being out.

One of these days, he WILL be getting the “when I was your age” lecture from me!

On the bright side, at least this won’t be happening anytime soon. I hope…

In the grand scheme of things, and compared to what some others have experience or are still experiencing, we survived Hurricane Irene with minimal damage. We had no water issues in the house and never lost power. We’re still without cable and broadband internet (I’m at Veronica’s office using her wi-fi to write this), but that’s nothing to complain about. We do have internet access, just via our iPhones and my iPad, so we’re not completely cut off.

Back on Day 107 I showed a photo of DB helping me repair a section of fence in the yard. Looks like we’ve got more repairs to make. You can barely see the new post we installed on the left edge of this photo (bad composition Hubman, bad composition!)

Another damaged section, the post is soooo lose in the ground, I’ll probably end up having to replace it with a properly-set new one.

If it wasn’t for the trees holding it up this section would probably be lying on the ground!

This is probably the worst damage, a tree limb about 5″ in diameter and about 20′ long snapped. Unfortunately it’s still hanging there, about 30′ off the ground. I would rather it had fallen, it would have just landed in my yard, there’s really nothing it could have damaged except for the already-listing fence below it.

Our cable has been out since around noontime Sunday. Two kids plus my sister & her son plus our online addictions has lead to a long day!

We have our iPhones and I have my iPad so we’ve somewhat stayed connected, at 3G speeds.

I have photos to share, we have the follow up to “Good Hosts” to share plus the usual miscellaneous nonsense you’ve come to expect from me. But, there’s only so much I can do from my iPad.

Stay tuned, I hope to catch up on Monday.

In the meanwhile, I’ll work in being grateful that my problems are so minor and at least we still have power and an intact roof over our heads, some people didn’t fare as well. I know of at least 3 blogger friends who have been told not to expect to get power restored until the end of the week, and I know someone on twitter who’s dad had a BIG tree crash through the roof of his house.

I’m curious just how much rain we’re going to get with Hurricane Irene, so around 10:15 Saturday night I put this glass out on the back deck. We’ll see how much water it holds in the morning and I’ll probably use my Twitter to update with more pics during the day.

I hope that all of my friends in the path of the storm are staying safe!

This was paired with the Date Night Bra, (partly) seen on Day 205. We had a fabulous time with some new friends on Friday night :-)

Thursday’s drive SUCKED!! According to the GPS it was 167 miles from where we were in Maryland to my sisters place on Long Island. The drive should have taken 3 hrs and 15 minutes.

FIVE hours later we pulled into my sisters driveway!  Take a good look at the photo, what don’t you see? Motion blur! Don’t let the very fast shutter speed fool you, it’s because we were sitting still, just like we were for portions of the NJ Turnpike, I-278 on Staten Island and the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn.

On the bright side? Thursday night Veronica and I are sleeping in a room without kids. Friday we’re driving home, without the kids and we’ll be kid-free until Tuesday afternoon. We’re hoping to arrange some quality adult fun while we have the chance :-)

I don’t consider myself bald, I’m just taller than my hair – Lucius Annaeus Seneca

For quite a while I’ve been thinking about how I might look if I gave up on my receding and increasingly gray hair and shaved my head.  And now I know! But I don’t really like it, I’m going to let it grow back some but still keep it really short.

Oh, even though I lamented the demise of HNT a few weeks ago, and despite Osbasso’s response to me, I still plan on participating when the mood strikes me. Like today, for example :-)

Happy HNT!

Driving around north-suburban Baltimore, we came across a trio of deer just hanging out, barely 100 feet off the road. They were pretty mellow deer, they just watched me as I pulled over and took several pics. Unfortunately I couldn’t get all 3 in one good shot, it seems that whenever 2 were looking towards me 1 wasn’t cooperating.  This was about the best I got.
