Monday evening I polled my Twitter followers for what location I should try next for the Wanton Wednesday Scavenger Hunt. I gave them the choice of a beach, a dock, or a rooftop and a majority of people who replied said rooftop. Around 9:30pm, up I went!
I really did think I had something to work with. There is a spotlight with a motion detector by the garage, it came on when I got the ladder out and the light was still on when I took a test photo.
I figured that I might be able to get a silhouette photo, if nothing else. But the autofocus wouldn’t cooperate in the dark of the rooftop and then the spotlight automatically turned off, leaving me in complete darkness.
I plan on trying again Tuesday morning, I’m going to be up on the roof as the sun is rising, we’ll see if I can get something then!
By the way, my yard and driveway isn’t lit up THAT well, look at the metadata for the image- it was a 4 sec exposure at ISO 1600 and f/1.8, that’s gathering a ton of light!
