I bet some of my BDSM-inclined friends thought of something besides my hammock when they saw the title of this post :-)

Countless hours sitting here
Reading
Writing
Rocking kids to sleep
Watching TV

After 12 years, the time as come to say farewell to this chair, my first Father’s Day present

It spend 2 days sitting at the curb, but no one took it. Then I learned that a young single friend was looking for furniture for her place and wouldn’t you know it, this chair matches the couch she already has. Now it has a new home, at least until the fabric wears all the way through!!

I think I’ve mentioned that for the past several weeks we’ve been dog-sitting for my mom while she’s on vacation in Italy (must be nice!).  He’s a cute little pup and full of energy, he loves to sprint around the yard for what appears to be no reason at all except that it’s fun. Hmm, might be a lesson there for us people…

Considering that we’re moving out of this house in a little over 3 months, we sure have been putting money into making it look good! This time around? $120 at Lowe’s for some new shrubs, including a few azaleas. At least they look pretty!

Sometimes photo ideas occur spontaneously, other times there’s a little help. This one was actually suggested by Princess Persistent, after she “helped” me rotate the tires and wash my truck.

I like how the fence is reflected in the bumper

Anyone who’s been reading my blog or following me on Twitter since last summer knows that I love relaxing in the yard on my hammock. Yesterday I pulled it down from the attic and set it up. It may still be a little cool out, but I don’t care!

Wood chips, that is, a total of 9 cubic yards worth!

So who’s coming over this weekend to help me spread them around?

I’ll make it worth your while :-)

I decided that the windows on my truck needed cleaned after I returned home from my road trip.
Princess Persistent decided that she would be my helper. And she actually was helpful!

Princess Persistent carefully lays a blanket out on the floor, making sure that it’s just right. She positions herself on it and calls out to me “hey dad, come roll me up in the blanket!”

I do as she asks and she declares “now I look like a big burrito!”  That’s my little goofball…

The original was a little boring color-wise, so I desaturated the image and upped the black levels, trying for a different look. I’m not sure this is any better than the original…

Left to his own devices, I think Darling Boy would spend ALL of his free time in front of his computer screen!
