Good thing Veronica has the patience of a saint, Princess Persistent needs a little more practice!

Sometimes DB likes to go to the quiet of his room and read in peace before bedtime. I can’t blame him, PP definitely has her moments when she won’t stop talking!

Veronica is a damn good cook, but sometimes she prefers to “slave over a hot cell phone”, as she puts it. Monday evening was one of those times!

Darling Boy enjoys reading the comics every day.  It’s just too bad that classics that I grew up with, such as The Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes, and Bloom County aren’t around any more…

She’s almost 13 yrs old, but when food is involved, she’s got the energy of a puppy and is eternally hopeful that Veronica will “drop” something for her!

What happens when I’m left to “cook” for myself?  “Remove entree from box, peel back plastic wrap, cook for 15 min”.  It wasn’t as good as one of Veronica’s homemade enchiladas (duh) but it wasn’t too bad either.

And since yesterday was National Margarita Day, I just HAD to make one to go with dinner!

Nothing like a cold Saturday afternoon and relaxing by a fire…

That’s what I smelled like after Veronica gave me a back rub,
using the lotion from Bath and Body Works :-)

Veronica has a conference in Boston on Friday and Saturday, with numerous evening social opportunities. Instead of driving the 35 miles back and forth each day, we figured she could spend the night and enjoy a little getaway while I took care of the kids.

I tucked PP into bed and offered to read her a story. “Dad, I can read a book to myself!”

Well okay then, I’ll just take a photo to show mom when she returns on Saturday afternoon

Pine needles, that is!
(I know, some of my pervier friends thought of something different!)

This is what remains after the tree was set up for 3 weeks and then a ton of needles were knocked off when the ornaments and lights were removed. It doesn’t help that Princess Persistent was “helping” Veronica.
