Here it is, the starting line for the Boston Marathon, along with a view of the first several hundred yards of the course.

Two random observations-
From the runners perspective, the words painted on the starting line are upside down. For the benefit of the cameras at the start of the race, as runners are toeing the line?
The cops kept stopping traffic so runners (and others, I guess) could come stand in the road and have their photo taken while standing on the starting line. Some drivers didn’t look too happy about having to wait. Umm, you’re passing through the town common where the oldest (modern) marathon in the world starts, the day before the race, wtf do you expect?

Sometimes photo ideas occur spontaneously, other times there’s a little help. This one was actually suggested by Princess Persistent, after she “helped” me rotate the tires and wash my truck.

I love my macro lens!

To give you a sense of size, an 18 gauge needle is 5/100 of an inch in diameter. There are some images that a regular lens would really have trouble capturing

When I first set up this divider, it was to create a visual barrier between the kids playroom on the left and the room on the right. Why? Because the room on the right is where the futon is and where we entertain certain friends

Now? It’s coming in handy as a divider between Darling Boy’s “bedroom” and Princess Persistent’s “bedroom”, since this is where they’re sleeping while the bedroom floors are being refinished this week

It’s a painters best friend, perfect for taping off trim molding that you don’t want to mess up

But you know what really sucks? When you discover that the previous owners of the house did not use primer on the trim molding, so that some of the paint comes right off with the tape :-/

Okay, so this is just confirmation that my mind is perpetually in the gutter…

I think I already mentioned that we’re dog-sitting for my mom for a month, this is one of his toys. First time I saw it I thought, but didn’t say out loud, “oh look, it’s a big pink fuzzy dildo!”
