Darling Boy is still buying into the Santa myth, I told him we’re going to clean out the fireplace on Friday so Santa doesn’t get dirty, he thought that was a good idea!

We had the first snow accumulation of the season Monday night/Tuesday morning. Now this is New England, you would think people would remember how to drive in snow from year to year. However, my commute taking twice as long as usual suggests otherwise…

Monday evening I was sitting on the couch when I heard glass break. This candle was burning inside the ceramic gingerbread house, the wax was just about gone, the glass heated up and shattered. Oops, at least no one got hurt!

That snow storm? It ruined any chance I had of seeing the lunar eclipse early Tuesday morning, which I seriously considered getting up for. I had read a post at Digital Photography School about photographing the moon, so I figured I could at least test out their advice Tuesday evening, when the sky was clear. Anyone who reads Veronica’s blog knows that she loves to cook, and anyone who’s had her cooking knows that she’s even pretty good at it! But sometimes, things don’t quite work out. Today is Bake for the Teachers Day at DB’s school, so of course Veronica volunteered to make something, in this case her signature pound cake, complete with egg nog and rum for an extra dose of goodness. Unfortunately, some of it stuck to the pan, so it doesn’t look quite as good as it tastes.

PP found a deck of cards under the loveseat (WTF?) and insisted on playing a game.

My dad and his girlfriend visited this weekend and we had an early Christmas celebration. Among the things my dad got for the kids was a game for the Wii called Nerf N-Strike Elite. When the Wii remote isn’t in the gun stock, an attachment for blasting Nerf darts goes in it’s place. DB has been having a lot of fun with the game!

The kids have learned the Punch Buggy game and have gotten quite good at recognizing a Volkswagon on the road. Or this one in the parking lot at work! I had PP with me for my company’s Christmas party on Friday afternoon, as we were leaving she beat me to it and noticed that this car parked next to my truck.
We got home, showed her brother the picture, and she promptly punched him!
