I think I’ve mentioned that for the past several weeks we’ve been dog-sitting for my mom while she’s on vacation in Italy (must be nice!).  He’s a cute little pup and full of energy, he loves to sprint around the yard for what appears to be no reason at all except that it’s fun. Hmm, might be a lesson there for us people…

Anyone who’s been reading my blog or following me on Twitter since last summer knows that I love relaxing in the yard on my hammock. Yesterday I pulled it down from the attic and set it up. It may still be a little cool out, but I don’t care!

I was taking down the Christmas lights, since I already had the extension ladder out I decided to climb up on the roof and see if anything caught my eye for a photo opportunity.

I liked this view of the kids swingset (which I built a few years ago, yay me) and what I really like is that it’s early January and there’s no snow on the ground!

This is far from the first photo of my and/or the hammock. I’ve tweeted a number of pics from this position and one of the random header images you might see above is of me laying on the hammock.

So why another hammock photo?

Consider this- it was 5:45pm on October 8th, barely a half hour before sunset. It’s so warm that I’m laying outside in nothing except shorts and a t-shirt. There won’t be many more evenings like this before I pack the hammock away for the winter and had to capture the occasion for posterity!

I bought these last summer in Texas, it’s nice that’s finally warm enough to wear them on a regular basis again!

Typically we expect the weather forecasters to overstate the possible magnitude of a storm.
Not this time, if anything we got more snow than was expected!

Time: 9:30am
Place: Yard

With the 40 mph+ winds that came with the snowstorm, snow drifts were inevitable.  On one hand, parts of my driveway were practically devoid of snow.  On the other hand parts of my driveway had 2 ft of densely packed snow…

Monday evening I was sitting on the couch and noticed this car in the street down the block a little bit.  I watched it for a few minutes, it was obvious no one was in it, it was just sitting there.  It bothered me enough that I had to get dressed and go outside to see just how much it was blocking the street, since from inside my perspective was off.  Is anyone surprised that I brought my camera outside with me?

Who parks like this?  Oh right, some asshole who thinks the world revolves around him…

Yes, I had a tree picture yesterday, but what do you expect? It’s fall in New England and there are sights like this everywhere!
I got home from work, let the dog out the back door and couldn’t help but notice how the sun was hitting the trees

I suppose at one time this was a little straighter, I should do something about it someday before it falls over.
