Retaining wall, that is…
Tuesday evening I was out in the yard with the kids, playing on the swingset. I climbed up on the monkey bars and DB thought it would be cool to imitate dad (yeah, that’ll change someday!!!) and join me. Once he got up there, I asked him to stay put while I got the camera.
I like this perspective, laying on the ground directly underneath him!
I took several pictures on Monday and couldn’t decide which to use, so I’m posting two completely different ones.
First, a picture of some flowers from my yard. And if you want to see a case of helmet-hair after a 30 mile bike ride, just click-click on the flowers.
But I’m warning you, it’s not pretty!

I’m on the road today, heading to Baltimore for a meeting. Veronica is coming down on Friday to join me for the last night of my trip. Anyone in the area want to say hi?
It’s Tuesday, which means a new edition of Tits for Troops is posted, check it out!
And it was time to do something about it!

Sunday morning I’m riding in the New York 5 Boro Bike Tour, which as the name implies will take me (and 30,000+ other riders!) along a 42 mile route through parts of Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.
I completed this ride last year and blogged about it (with pictures!) here. Last year the weather was cold and rainy all day and frankly I was really miserable for damn near the entire ride. But the forecast for Sunday in New York City is for high temps in the 80′s and while there is a chance of a thunderstorm, that’s not until later in the day, when I’ll already be done with the ride. Cross your fingers and hope the weather forecast is accurate for me!
I’ll have my iPhone with me, so if you’re interested in seeing pictures of the ride throughout the day, you can visit my Twitter page, or come back here and look at my updates on the sidebar over there on the left side of the screen (and if I remember, I’ll enable geotagging for my tweets). I’ll also have my SLR in my backpack and hope to get some good shots with that, so expect to see more pictures from the ride on Monday.
For as long as I remember, I would miss the early signs of spring- trees budding, bulbs sprouting, and so on. Then one day I would look around and think “holy shit, where’d all those leaves come from?” Since I started this little Project365, I’ve gotten a lot better about noticing some of the little things around me.
Like this lilac bush in our back yard. Playing outside with the kids over the weekend I noticed the buds starting, so Tuesday evening, when I realized I didn’t have anything for today yet, I just went into the yard took this picture.
I’ve also learned that people who accuse you of being judgmental can be pretty damn quick to judge as well, yet they’re oblivious to their hypocrisy. And that’s all that I’ll say about that. Sorry if that seems cryptic to anyone.
Happy Hump Day!!!!
